I have three Claycraft tiles that formed a "picture" for the front of my Dad's brick fireplace in his 1920 Spanish style home. The fireplace fell into the living room in a California earthquake, and the center (large tile) was broken into several pieces. Should I try to glue the pieces together, or send it to an expert?

Take the tiles to an expert restorer. A restorer can reassemble the tiles and touch them up so that the break will be invisible. If you only have a few tiles, it shouldn't cost much. This sort of restoration work is not easy to do yourself and will look bad if you mess it up -- especially because of the location of the tile.

Ask antique dealers who specialize in art pottery who they recommend.

Good Luck.
