I told Kristey from AZ (from a post dated 12/21/02) that I would send some pictures of my son-in-law's family home. It was built in 1939 by his grandfather, who lived there until his death this past summer. So little has changed that I thought it would be a good example of decorative style.

Minneapolis home c.1940
http://169.207.153.174/cf/index.html
Thanks a MILLION! I have learned to look very closely at things around my home, and there has definitely been some MAJOR things changed that I wish had been left alone. (The kitchen ceiling being the major thing...someone lowered it and put in those UGLY flourescent lights! ARG!)
Thanks for giving me an idea of what I should be looking for! (And now I'm thinking I have GOT to do that kitchen first. YIKES!)

Thanks so much for the pictures, they're great. I LOVE the garage doors! I wish the carriage door reproductions weren't so expensive-they add so much to the look. I hope everyone keeps posting pictures. I'll do the same if I ever figure out how to do it. Cris
