We have a 1912 Airplane Bungalow in the Los Angeles/Pasadena area which we've recently completed restoring the interior of. Now we're moving on to the exterior, and need recommendations for a contractor or very talented (and dependable) carpenter to help us restore the exterior (remove aluminum, restore shingles, replace front columns, restore raftertail detail, replace windows, etc.). Any ideas? We'd like to begin ASAP.

I have the perfect guy for you who has done a bunch of work on our 1914 airplane bungalow in west hollywood. My wife have done a lot of work ourselves, but we found this guy a couple months ago (he has been working on our house ever since) who does the best job, the quality of the work is honestly as good if you had all the time in the world and did it yourself, i have never even come close to encountering this level of anal retentiveness with any contractor before. He rebuilt/replaced a bunch of my rafter tails, amongst other exterior details he built from scratch detailed attic vent covers that he copied perfectly from a picture i had of a similar airplane bungalow. he does interior too and is refurbishing some trashed builtins and wainscotting for me right now.
<br>He's from the east and knows old houses really well. Email me if you want and I will ask him if he minds if i give out his number to somebody online, i doubt he will-
