Is there anyone interested in starting a bungalow club in Central Illinois (Springfield, Illinois)? I would think we could have monthly meetings devoted to a topic of interest re. bungalow restoration or decoration. Let me know if you are interested. <br>

I am in southern IL, about 3hrs from Springfield. I would certainly make the drive for a larger event if you ever get anything going. <br> <br>What I would really like to see in Illinois is more local programs like the Chicago historical bungalow program, where they offer special mortgages, home improvement loans, and discounts for certain restoration projects, if homeowners follow a set of guidlines to preserve the home. There are so many cute bungalows in my town, and too few of them are getting maintained at all, much less maintained with appreciation for architectural integrity. There are bungalows to die for in my neighborhood that are just crumbling away. <br> <br>I have been thinking of trying to form some kind of club in my town, either specifically for bungalows or for historic homes in general. If you have any tips or experiences , why don't you share them here, and I'll do the same. <br> <br>
